A quiet Miramar neighborhood was disrupted Friday afternoon when a white SUV barreled into the facade of a house near the intersection of Miramar Parkway and Northwest 66th Terrace. Officials say there were no injuries as the house was empty and the driver managed to escape the wreck unscathed, but the crash left residents shaken and demanding action, WSVN reported.

The SUV, which was captured on video by aerial footage, had veered off the road, through a grassy patch, and ultimately embedded itself into the front of the residence on the 2800 block of Southwest 66th Terrace. The family returned to find their home damaged and declared unsafe by officials. Miramar Police and Fire Rescue units responded to the incident, and later a tow truck removed the vehicle from the scene,

Resident George Ellis expressed his frustration to WSVN, saying, "That white SUV came flying by the house, ’cause we were out to dinner." Ellis recounted seeing the car exceeding the 30 mph speed limit, estimating it at around 50 mph before it crashed. He reflected on a series of similar incidents, including a Tesla crashing into a nearby home in 2021 and a drunk driving accident in 2023 that demolished part of a woman's wall.

"They think it's the Miramar Raceway," Ellis said, as mentioned by NBC MIAMI.
