Get ready to be whisked away to the samurai era because FX and Nobu Hospitality are bringing a slice of Japanese history and pop culture to select luxury hotels across the U.S. Nobu Hotels are celebrating the upcoming series premiere of FX's "Shōgun," an adaptation of James Clavell’s historical novel, according to a FOX5 Atlanta report.
The limited series is set for a February 27 release on FX, with its debut also coming to Hulu in the U.S, Star+ in Latin America, and Disney+ for other global audiences. Nobu Hotels in Atlanta, Chicago, Las Vegas, Miami Beach, and Palo Alto have decked out their lobbies since February 14 with "Shōgun" costumes, a visual treat that channels the 1600s Japan flavor featured in the show. Additionally, guests staying from February 21 onwards will score an amenity kit from Bokksu, loaded with Japanese snacks capturing the winter season over there, as Hotel Management Network mentioned.
Kenya Hardaway, Senior Vice President Integrated Promotions at FX, relayed her excitement about the partnership. "FX’s collaboration with Nobu Hospitality is a celebration of ‘Shōgun’ and a heartfelt tribute to Japanese culture and history that will appeal to both fans of the book and those new to the story," she told FOX5 Atlanta.
Fancy a themed cocktail? Nobu Restaurants are joining the ceremonial katanas-drawn occasion with two drinks inspired by the series, the "Samurai Brew" and "The Haze Over Osaka." "The collaboration for ‘Shōgun’ aligns with Nobu’s commitment to culturally rich experiences. Our team is offering memorable experiences that will resonate with Nobu guests," Rachael Palumbo, Nobu vice president of global hotel brand marketing, said in a statement obtained by Hotel Management Network.
This East meets West collaboration is set to create an immersive vibe for fans and newbies of 'Shōgun' alike, making the anticipation for the series premiere a culturally enriching run-up.
