
A woman has died after being hit by a vehicle in Northwest Miami-Dade, officials reported. The Miami-Dade Police Department, along with Fire Rescue units, arrived on the harrowing scene in the early hours of Saturday morning, following an accident that claimed the life of a pedestrian.
The incident occurred around 1:40 a.m. near the intersection of Northwest 79th Street and 12th Court, a spot in the county's West Little River neighborhood now marked by tragedy. As per WSVN, the area was quickly cordoned off with crime scene tape as investigators began to piece together the events that led to the fatal crash.
At this time, details about the woman whose life was abruptly ended on the asphalt remain scarce. Authorities have not yet released her identity pending family notification. According to Local 10 News, the driver involved in the incident did stay at the scene after the crash, a detail that might serve crucial in the forthcoming investigation.
