Authorities in Arizona are ramping up efforts to catch armed robbery suspects in two separate incidents, reaching out to the public for crucial leads. According to ABC 15, a west Phoenix convenience store faced an armed robbery on January 20, where the suspect is seen in a video threatening an employee with a knife before swiping cartons of cigarettes. The crime occurred at the Circle K near 43rd Avenue and McDowell Road around 2 a.m.
The suspect involved in the Phoenix robbery is yet to be identified. He has been described as a Hispanic or Native American man, aged between 20 and 30. Standing at about 5'4" to 5'6" with a thin build and brown eyes, he weighs around 150 pounds. Police have circulated his description in hopes that someone will come forward with information.
Meanwhile, in Tempe, a separate incident on February 28, 2023, involved an armed suspect getting away with more than $1,500 worth of vape products from a smoke shop. As reported by AZFamily, the suspect entered the store located near Elliott and Kyrene Roads at around 7:15 p.m., wielding a chrome revolver and forcing an employee to fill a green drawstring backpack with merchandise.
Tempe police describe the armed robbery suspect as an Hispanic man with black hair and brown eyes. Notably, the suspect had entered the store roughly an hour before the robbery, but was denied sale. Escaping the scene on either a BMX style or mountain bike, the authorities believe he may reside in the nearby area.
