San Antonio Municipal Court Expands Hours, Offers Virtual Sessions to Tackle Citation BacklogSource: Google Street View

In the city of San Antonio, a beacon of operational flexibility is shining through at the Municipal Court with announcements of extended hours and the implementation of virtual court sessions geared toward addressing the backlog of pending citations.

From February 26 to March 22, San Antonians have the opportunity to swiftly resolve outstanding parking, civil or Class C misdemeanor citations, sparing themselves legal woes and the risk of arrest. In a bid to thoroughly address this issue, the Court is set to also throw its doors open longer hours on selected dates and offer complimentary parking, a gesture aimed at increasing the straightforwardness of settling legal matters for bustling citizens.

According to the San Antonio Municipal Court's announcement, procrastinators and the ever-busy can mark their calendars for March 1 and March 16 when the Court extends its hours until 8 p.m. and 1 p.m. respectively, appointments be damned. All other business days during the Warrant Resolution Campaign, the Court will maintain its usual hours from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m

For those unable or unwilling to make the trek, a digital salvation through Zoom is being ordained where litigants can to easily engage in virtual court sessions. These digital deliberations will be conducted Monday through Friday, between the hours of 2 and 4 p.m., with doors metaphorically closing at 3:30 p.m. for admissions. This virtual convenience and all other pertinent details can be sourced straight from the horse's mouth on the Court's official website.

Additionally, the Court's legwork has been minimized for some citations, as they may now be resolved through a quick visit to the Online Payment System. For the curious and the concerned, a Traffic/Criminal Case Search tool awaits on the Court's website to check the status of citations and to chart the course for their resolution.
