A fatal shooting in Deerfield Beach claimed the life of a 19-year-old from Coral Springs after he crashed into a tree. Bryan Fonseca succumbed to gunshot wounds he sustained before the collision, authorities confirmed.
The shooting incident took place on January 12th, and deputies answered to a distress call at Heritage Circle Condominiums at approximately 7 p.m., according to reports by Boca Post. Upon their arrival, Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies discovered an unresponsive Fonseca inside a black 2018 Mercedes Benz AMG C43. The victim had reportedly crashed into a tree due to his injuries from being shot.
Emergency crews from Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue responded to the accident site where they found the wounded teenager. Fonseca was promptly transported to Broward Health North but despite medical efforts, he died on February 2nd. The Broward Sheriff’s Office has since escalated the case to their Homicide Unit who are thoroughly investigating the death.
As detectives work to piece together what led to the tragic death of Fonseca, they’ve asked for help from the public.
