A coordinated effort between White Settlement Police and Fort Worth Police led to the arrest of a suspect with a felony warrant, officials said Wednesday. Members of the Corporal Russell’s shift at White Settlement PD collaborated with West Division officers of the Fort Worth PD to track and apprehend the individual.
The capture was initiated after the suspect's vehicle was flagged by a license plate reading system, prompting a traffic stop. Officers Ramirez and Wyly conducted the stop, while Dispatcher Dennis supported them from the console. "Great teamwork between Corporal Russell’s shift last night and Fort Worth Police Department West Division Commander Stefanie Rick’s shift, on a suspect vehicle that alerted on our license plate reader system," as per the White Settlement Police Department.
The suspect, whose identity has not been disclosed, was taken into custody without incident. The successful operation underscores the utility of technological assets in modern policing, particularly the use of automatic license plate recognition systems which have become an invaluable tool for law enforcement agencies in identifying and tracking vehicles associated with criminal activity.
While the specifics of the felony warrant are not immediately available, the swiftness of the operation highlights effective communication and cooperation between neighboring police departments. The arrest serves as a reminder, of the ongoing commitment of local law enforcement to uphold public safety and to swiftly bring suspects to justice. The departments involved have not released further details regarding the charges the suspect is facing or their next court appearance.
