Miami's famous Deering Estate is set to host the Deering Seafood Festival on April 14, packed with a smorgasbord of oceanic delights, local eats, and lively entertainment. The 18th annual edition of this award-winning fest promises a day full of mouth-watering seafood, cooking demonstrations by top Miami chefs, and a raft of family-friendly fun.
Scheduled to kick off the festivities on April 12, the "Chef's Table on the Bay – Night in the Tropics" is to showcase the talents of Chef Eileen Andrade of Finka Table and Tap, treating guests to an outdoor dining extravaganza right on the Deering Estate lawn. Andrade, famed for her culinary prowess and local heritage, brings a combination of Miami's Cuban flavors and international inspiration to the table, as a statement obtained by the Deering Estate Foundation reveals. To top it off, a Bahamian Junkanoo parade, craft beer lounges, and live music are on tap to round out the festival atmosphere.
According to details on the Deering Estate website, cooking aficionados can expect to see Chef Nivan Patel from Orno and other renowned local chefs in action within the Chef Demo Tent. With six chefs dishing out their best, alongside the winner of a culinary student competition from Florida International University, the food demonstrations are set to be a fest highlight, all free with admission to the festival, while spots last.
The festival will also feature a "Spring Fun Kid’s Zone" filled with games, arts, and magic for the young ones. On the flip side, adults can cool off at a Frozen Drink Booth courtesy of Bombarda Rum or test their putting skills at a special Masters-themed golf area, complete with a viewing of the final day of the Masters Tournament.
