A horrific crash in Ann Arbor this Saturday has left a 20-year-old man in dire straits, according to local authorities. Police and emergency crews rushed to the scene at the intersection of Plymouth Road and Broadway Street around 4 a.m., where they discovered a vehicle that had violently careened into the parking lot of a nearby business mall, CBS Detroit reports.
The passenger, whose plight has garnered the city's concern, required the "Jaws of Life" to be freed from the wreckage of the electric Porsche AG Taycan he was in – this was a machine meant for safety and speed, and he was subsequently taken to the University of Michigan hospital with significant injuries, as ClickOnDetroit detailed.
Also involved in the accident were two 19-year-old women, one behind the wheel and the other as a passenger, both sustaining minor injuries and transported to a local emergency room, according to WWJ Newsradio 950. The Ann Arbor Police Department emphasized how quickly the night turned as they pointed to alcohol and high speeds as likely culprits in causing the vehicle to meet its ill fate, the investigation into this matter remains open with pieces of the scene still being put together.
The aftermath of the collision was quite visible to shocked passersby, the front of the high-powered vehicle torn apart and wheels strewn across the crash site, even a parked vehicle nearby wasn't spared from the damage one of its wheels going rogue smashing the windshield.
