A violent collision rattled the southeast side of Naperville on Wednesday morning, causing severe disruption and heartache. According to official reports, Naperville responders rushed to the scene of a two-vehicle smash-up at the busy crossroads of 95th Street and Plainfield/Naperville Road around 11:10 a.m.
Caught in the crosshairs of this unfortunate event, a southbound white 2019 Chrysler Pacifica plowed into a blue 2007 Dodge Caravan that was making a left turn onto westbound 95th Street. With the Dodge Caravan's driver and passenger rushed to the hospital, the latter suffering life-threatening wounds, the community was left to grapple with the chaos unfolded before them. The passenger, not the driver, was transported to the hospital with injuries threatening their life, thrusting the intersection into a standstill while the experts combed through the metal and the memories left behind.
After the crash, a squadron of traffic crash reconstruction specialists from the Naperville Police Department made their way through the closed roads to unravel the specifics of the collision. As a result, a section of Plainfield/Naperville Road and 95th Street remained inaccessible until the late afternoon, finally reopening around 3:30 p.m.
In a bid to piece together this puzzle, authorities are reaching out. They ask anyone with information about the tragic event to come forward, offering their pieces of truth. "Anyone with information regarding the crash is asked to contact the Naperville Police Department’s Traffic Unit at (630) 420-8833," the department stated, soliciting the community's help with the hope that not another detail, nor another day, would be lost in the resolution of this earnest investigation.
