Anoka County Residents Can Access Property Tax Statements Online, Print Versions Mailing SoonSource: Unsplash/Mikaela Wiedenhoff

Tax season is here, and Anoka County residents are on the hook for their annual tribute to the public coffers. The country's government has made it known through its website that Real Estate and Personal Property tax statements for the year payable in 2024 are now up for grabs online.

Those who prefer the analog approach can keep an eye on their mailboxes. The print versions of the tax statements are expected to hit homes mid to late March, as reported by Anoka County, Minnesota.

After a brief hiatus, the option to pay online has been reinstated, offering a tinge of convenience in the taxing process. For folks who've engaged in the property market shuffle—buying or selling their digs after the first of January—their tax statements will land in the previous owner's hands. The county's notice explicitly states that "If you purchased or sold property after January 1 this year the tax statement will be mailed to the previous owner."

A critical point for new owners to note: don't expect the county to do the forwarding for you. Statements are not automatically resent following a transfer of ownership, leaving it up to residents to nab a duplicate statement from the county's website if necessary, according to Anoka County, Minnesota.
