The city is in for a wet and windy week, according to the latest forecasts. Today, showers are expected mainly after noon with a high temperature approaching 58 degrees. An east-southeast wind will make its presence known, blowing between 13 and 18 mph, and could gust up to 29 mph. It's almost a guarantee with a 90% chance of precipitation, as reported by National Weather Service.

The rains are set to continue into the night, ensuring that the steady temperature of around 55 remains dampened by showers. A patchy fog is on the menu after 5 am. The wind will ease slightly, ranging from 8 to 17 mph, but gusts could still reach 26 mph. The chance of precipitation stubbornly clings at 90%, which means the city's streets are likely to be slick.

Saturday morning could see Atlantans facing lingering showers, particularly before 8 am, and some patchy fog clearing by 9 am. The clouds should part mostly, and the high is expected to reach around 66 degrees. A north-northwest wind, however, will be picking up speed, from 9 to 12 mph and then 17 to 20 mph, with gusts that could rival today's at 29 mph. Despite the turn in weather, there's still a 60% chance that raindrops will accompany that wind.

Clear skies are predicted for Saturday night, offering a reprieve with a low of around 40 degrees. The north-northwest wind continues its gusto, ranging between 11 and 20 mph, and gusts could max out at 30 mph. Sunday will dawn bright and sunny, with the high floating near 66 degrees and a gentler north wind, from 6 to 10 mph, which will later shift east. The night is expected to usher in more cloud cover with lows edging toward 44.

Monday offers partly sunny skies and a high near 62, but come nightfall, shower chances creep back into the forecast. As Tuesday arrives, showers appear likely with mostly cloudy skies and similar highs around 64 degrees. This wet weather persists through Tuesday night, with expectations of more showers and a consistent low near 50.

Wednesday's forecast dangles a mix of sun and a chance of rain, with highs again near 66 degrees, closing the night on a clearer note with a low around 44. By Thursday, Atlantans can look forward to unadulterated sunshine and enjoy a high that nudges a smidge higher to 67 degrees.
