In an unrelated incident, the tranquility of a Gresham apartment was shattered Sunday night when a bullet penetrated a bedroom window. The KOIN reported that although police and medical teams rushed to what was initially believed to be a shooting, a language barrier caused initial confusion, and no one was shot or injured. The discharged bullet was traced back to a neighboring apartment complex and was later found lodged in a closet wall.
The close calls come amid concerns over rising gun violence in the Gresham area, with both incidents taking place within the same weekend. Fortunately, in both occurrences, no serious injuries were reported, a stroke of luck in the face of potential disaster.
