Chaos erupted at a North Lauderdale sports bar when a fight turned fatal early Sunday morning, leaving one dead and two others injured. The Broward Sheriff’s Office descended on Player's Sports Bar & Grill, located at the 5200 block of North State Road 7, after receiving reports of gunfire around 3:30 a.m. Witnesses at the scene described a brawl inside the venue that escalated to shots being fired. The victims, according to Local 10, didn't wait for paramedics and were instead rushed to area hospitals by friends.
Unfortunately, one man's life was claimed in the violence, with the other two sustaining non-life-threatening injuries. Driven by their friends as BSO detectives were gathering evidence, all three arrived at local hospitals, where one was later pronounced dead. As the sheriff's office continues to comb through details of the night, the bar, with its history of late-night openings, now finds itself under the harsh spotlight of tragedy once again.
"At Player's, this is not the first time I heard about a shooting. It has happened before," a resident told NBC6's Lena Salzbank. The frequency of such violence has not yet dulled the shock for locals, who expressed dismay at yet another shooting in their vicinity.
