Casa Grande residents, it's time to declutter and detoxify your homes the right way. Announced by the Casa Grande Sanitation Division, the annual Household Hazardous Waste Event is set to take place on Saturday, April 20, ready to take off all those risky items tucked away in your garages and sheds; just drive up to the North Operations Center, 3181 N. Lear Avenue from 8:00 AM to Noon to drop off your cleaning agents, automotive products, and other environmental nasties safely and responsibly.
For a cleaner, safer Casa Grande, all you've got to do is check the accepted items list on the city's website, keep your waste within the 25-gallon per trip limit and remember this collection is for residential waste only—sorry, local businesses, this one's not for you. The best part? It won't cost you a dime, free for all Casa Grande residents, this initiative is part of a suite of spring programs promoting sustainability and community pride.
But that's not all—the city is on a mission to spruce up every street corner with their Keep Casa Grande Clean & Beautiful Adopt-A-Street program, calling on groups and individuals to keep their adopted street segments spotless for the next two years. On March 30, take part in a commitment that goes beyond a one-day affair.
Add to your calendar the Bulk Trash Drop Off Day on April 13, also happening at Peart Park, making it easier for locals to say goodbye to cumbersome waste like outdated electronics, worn-out sofas and that pile of tires you've been meaning to deal with, free of charge. And, for those documents you're afraid to chuck in the trash, the Youth Commission Day of Shredding is here on the same day as the HHW event providing an opportunity to shred sensitive paperwork without a second thought.
Don't panic if you can't make these events—the landfill's open when you need it, Monday through Saturday, door's open from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, for your regular disposal needs. Look up all the details for these city-backed initiatives by visiting the Casa Grande website and get into the spirit of spring by participating in these community-conscious events designed to keep your town clean and green.
