
A deadly shooting on a quiet Cedar Hill street marks the town's first homicide of the year, sending shockwaves through the community. Cedar Hill Police Department officers were called to a residence on Bailey Drive early Tuesday morning after reports of gunfire, according to the Cedar Hill Police Department.
Upon arrival at the 800 block of Bailey Drive, officers found an adult female with gunshot wounds. Despite immediate first aid and, life-saving attempts by Cedar Hill medics the victim was later pronounced dead at a local hospital. In a disturbing morning revelation, several other occupants were in the home during the incident but remained unharmed. The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
As detectives and crime scene units scour the scene for evidence, a vehicle was said to have been seen leaving the area shortly after the shots were heard. Authorities have urged anyone with knowledge of the shooting to step forward. Detective Rhoden has been pointed out as the main contact for any information that could lead to unraveling the circumstances of the tragic event, with instructions to call the provided number or to dial 911 for immediate help.
