On March 23, the Chandler Nature Center is welcoming the nocturnal crowd—families, adventurers, night owls—to its free Nature at Night event, running from 6-9 p.m. According to an announcement on the city's website, this event is all about connecting with nature under the night sky and spurring a love for the environment among attendees.

"Back for its second year, Nature at Night is set to ignite curiosity and passion for nature among our community," Derek Gerson, the event organizer, told the City of Chandler's news center. "It is designed to nurture the love of the outdoors for nature lovers of all ages, leaving attendees with a newfound appreciation for conservation." From stargazers to those just looking to slightly break their usual evening routine, the event promises a range of activities to entertain and educate.

Among the night's offerings are guided hikes through Veterans Oasis Park, where visitors can witness nature's nocturnal wonders firsthand. The event also features nature-inspired crafts, hands-on activities, and communal bonfire gazing—perfect for warming hands and marshmallows. And let's not forget the local food trucks for those who manage to work up a nighttime appetite.

Thirsting for knowledge or wildlife encounters? Various exhibitors—including Wild at Heart, REI, Arizona Conservation Corps, and AZ Bat Rescue—will be on site providing interactive experiences designed to closely educate guests on local habitats and their wild inhabitants. The Chandler Nature Center, located at 4050 E. Chandler Heights Road, advises guests to dress properly to fully enjoy both indoor and outdoor elements of the event.
