Comerica Bank has rolled out its sixth annual prom dress drive, teaming up with the Detroit non-profit organization Jackets for Jobs to provide high schoolers with fancy frocks for their impending prom season. From March 18 through April 12, ten Comerica banking centers around Metro Detroit will become drop-off points for those looking to donate new or gently used prom dresses and accessories, as reported by CBS Detroit.

The initiative is more than just about fashion; it is a movement to empower youth in an essential rite of passage. Steve Davis, Market President of Comerica Bank Michigan, emphasized the importance of the drive, saying, "Each year, we are truly grateful for the support we receive from our customers and communities throughout the Metro Detroit area during this effort. Their generosity makes our Prom Dress Drive possible," as stated to Detroit Free Press. The dress drive has amassed over 7,700 dresses in its five-year history, setting the stage for a graceful prom experience for countless students.

Alison Vaughn, founder, and executive director of Jackets for Jobs, "Our mission is to empower others to achieve great things by providing them with the resources to help overcome barriers that exist," she stated. Jackets for Jobs not only aids in career attire but, through this collaboration with Comerica Bank, extends its reach to an event that for many represents a cherished high school memory.

The collection sites span across the region at addresses like 1969 W. Stadium Blvd. in Ann Arbor and 411 W. Lafayette St. in Detroit. With the Prom Dress Boutique scheduled for April 19-21 at the Samaritan Center.
