Chaos erupted on the Dan Ryan Expressway in Chicago Friday when bullets flew in broad daylight, leaving one person injured and causing authorities to shut down a segment of the bustling interstate for investigation, as the Chicago Sun-Times reported. The shooting occurred near the Chatham neighborhood around 11:45 a.m.
The victim, who has not been named, was found with a gunshot wound in the southbound lanes near 83rd Street and was promptly taken to a nearby hospital, the severity of their injuries has not been disclosed this is yet another stark portrayal of the gun violence that continues to plague the city's arteries, WLS-TV reported. Subsequently, the southbound lanes of the expressway were shut down at 75th Street as the police combed the area for evidence and witnesses.
