"The chance of precipitation is 70%," the National Weather Service states, with potential accumulations between a quarter and half an inch. The previously sunny skies will be mostly cloudy, with temperatures hitting a high near 62 amid an east wind of 7 to 10 mph.
As Thursday night rolls in, so does a heightened risk of showers and possibly a thunderstorm, with the chance of precipitation jumping to 90%. Temperatures will hover around a low of 44, as winds change course from southwest to north post-midnight. Into Friday, showers continue likely, primarily before 8 a.m. The day promises mostly cloudy skies and a high near 51, while a north wind will blow at around 11 mph.
The weekend forecasts a brief respite from the wetness, with Friday night partly clearing up and dipping to a low around 35. "Saturday looks partly sunny, with a high near 56 and breezy conditions," reports the National Weather Service. Come Saturday night, chances of showers return before 2 a.m. under mostly cloudy night skies setting at around 39. Those breezy conditions are slated to persist through the evening.
Looking ahead to Sunday, Detroiters should anticipate showers after 2 p.m. in an otherwise partly sunny day with a high near 47. The opportunity for rain abates before 8 p.m., although clouds will continue to shroud Sunday night as temperatures plummet to near 30. The early week maintains the cloudy trend, with highs around 40 on Monday, and by Tuesday, a bit of sun breaks through with highs expected to climb near 42.
