Marietta, get ready to rock, soul-out and swing back to the glory days as the city announces its 2024 Glover Park Concert Series lineup. Downtown Marietta Development Authority together with the City of Marietta are bringing back the crowd-favorite free concert series right at the heart of Marietta Square. Six special nights from April through September will see locals and visitors alike jamming to a variety of music genres under the starry sky.
Kicking off the series on April 26 is Guardians of the Jukebox pumping the nostalgia with a tribute to the '80s tunes. According to the official announcement, the lineup spans diverse musical acts with Ladies of Soul bringing funk and Motown melodies on May 31, and Her Majesty's Request paying homage to British rock on June 28. Bringing in the festive midsummer vibe, G Clef and The Playlist will cover a mix of crowd-pleasers on July 26, followed by the Troubadour Project's ode to '70s rock on August 23 — which, note, breaks the last Friday pattern by taking place on the 4th Friday.
Wrapped in the wraps of fall, The Bourbon Brothers will close out the series on September 27 with a Rat Pack Tribute sure to whisk fans to a bygone era of classic showmanship. All concerts will start at 8:00 p.m. sharp, but if you're vying for that stage-adjacent seat, make sure to set those alarm clocks — reservations for tables open on the first working day of each month at 8:00 a.m., and spots are notorious for disappearing faster than a guitar solo at a rock concert.
Don't forget to check out the 2024 Glover Park Concert Series poster, featuring artwork by Marietta's own Tina Stoffel, which can be admired at the Robertkent Galleries. Music lovers can bring their blankets and lawn chairs, but leave the plastic tarps and stakes at home, the city insists on keeping the park a no-fence zone. Those personal tables have got to wait until after 6:00 p.m., to hit the streets, instead of the grass.
Glover Park on the Historic Marietta Square is the place to be, with free street parking available as well as additional spaces at the City Hall parking deck and nearby lots. It's a string of nights sponsored by a slew of local businesses including SA White Oil Company and Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby’s, aiming to make these concerts accessible to all. A special shout out to the hardworking folks at the Downtown Marietta Development Authority and Marietta Parks, Recreation and Facilities for keeping these events litter-free and enjoyable for everyone.
