West Palm Beach residents, get ready for a new community hub. Palm Beach County officials, county commissioners, and local community partners gathered to dig the first ceremonial shovels into the soil at 5675 Parke Avenue, marking the start of construction on the future Gramercy Park Neighborhood Center. The groundbreaking ceremony kicked off at 11 AM this Thursday, offering a glimpse into the social spine set to strengthen the fabric of the local community. The center, sprawling over 11,000 square feet, promises a versatile multi-purpose room, a classroom, a kitchen, space for offices, and essential building support spaces.
According to Palm Beach County's official announcement, the Gramercy Park Neighborhood Center will also feature a parking lot, and, thoughtfully designed landscaping, plus a mulch-surfaced walking trail among other site infrastructure works. In contrast to previous community developments, the new facility is positioned as a beacon of local engagement and empowerment.
Construction is projected to span 380 days, potentially wrapping up in 2025, and signaling a fresh start for community gatherings, educational programs, and local governance. Residents of Gramercy Park and the wider West Palm Beach area have long advocated for such a venue – a place where friendships forge, minds meet, and the community unites.
Community leaders and officials at the event expressed their enthusiasm for the project, anticipating the positive impact it will have on the area. The center's multi-purpose design caters to a variety of activities and aims to become a central spot for events, learning opportunities, and organizational meetings that foster growth and togetherness.
