Flames engulfed the business and smoke could be seen billowing from the site, with responders on scene for nearly two hours to combat the fire though, thankfully officials noted no spread to nearby businesses and no injuries were reported, Local 10 News reported; a witness claimed seeing two men initiating the blaze, suggesting a deliberate act of vandalism or hostility. The Hialeah Police Department is investigating this incidence alongside the Fire Prevention Bureau and the State Fire Marshal’s Office, expressing concerns of a 'possible criminal investigation.'
Ariel Esquivel, the owner of the devastated barbershop, is grappling with the reality of loss and the impact on his workers, telling NBC Miami,"We can't suspect anything because we have no way of knowing the truth," while lamenting the uncertainty of their professional future, "We feel awful. We're all basically out of a job, now, I suppose little by little we'll get back on our feet. We'll be alright," Esquivel disclosed the harrowing consequences of the crime.
