Violence erupted outside a downtown Memphis bar early this morning, resulting in a serious injury from gunfire. Memphis Police Department apprehended a 25-year-old man in connection to the incident that left another man fighting for his life in the hospital. The shooting occurred around 2:15 a.m. outside the Blind Bear on South Main Street, as reported by FOX13 Memphis.
The violence seems to have been sparked by a confrontation inside the bar when a victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, felt a scrutinizing gaze from Dylan Clark, according to police statements. After the victim left the bar to walk his girlfriend to her car, he was purportedly followed and soon found himself engulfed in a physical altercation. Police relayed that the victim claimed to have been struck on the head with a chair. The tangled timeline of events leading to the shooting raises questions, as different reports have conflicting details.
Further reporting by Action News 5 alleges that post the fistfight, Clark managed to disarm the victim and used the victim's own gun to shoot him in the abdomen. The victim and his girlfriend then fled, and during a critical 911 call, they circled back to the scene. Upon their return, Clark reportedly shot at the victim's truck. The victim suffered extensive injuries and was taken to Regional One Hospital in a critical condition.
Dylan Clark now faces charges including two counts of aggravated assault and two counts of reckless endangerment. He has not been granted bond. The victim, wounded in both his abdomen and forehead, fights to recover from the harrowing ordeal. This account was corroborated by WREG, which reported the location of the injuries and the detention of one individual.
