A man was left in critical condition Saturday afternoon after a shooting in the 3100 block of Raleigh Millington Road, according to Memphis Police. Officers arrived to find the male victim at the scene and rushed him to the hospital, where he remained in critical condition as of Saturday night.
The shooting, first reported by WREG, is under active investigation, and no arrests had been announced. Police described the suspect only as a heavyset man last seen wearing a red hoodie and blue jeans, and they are asking anyone with information to call CrimeStoppers at 901-528-CASH. Tipsters who submit information through CrimeStoppers can remain anonymous and, per the organization's protocols, may be eligible for cash rewards of up to $1,000 to $2,000 if their tip leads to an arrest in a violent felony case.
A Block With a Violent Recent History
Saturday's shooting is not the first time gunfire has erupted on this exact stretch of road this year. Memphis Police responded to another shooting in the same 3100 block of Raleigh Millington Road on April 18, 2026, after a male victim was shot following a verbal confrontation — an incident Hoodline covered in an earlier report on the April shooting. In that case, the suspect was described as a woman who fled into nearby apartments.
Commercial addresses along the corridor have also drawn police attention. On January 31, 2026, officers responded to an armed robbery at gunpoint at the BP gas station at 3126 Raleigh Millington Road, where suspects stole a vehicle and other items, according to information distributed by CrimeStoppers. The corridor's troubles predate this year as well: in June 2023, an early-morning shooting near Raleigh Millington Road and Egypt Central Road left a male victim critically injured and hospitalized at Regional One Health, as reported by WATN-TV at the time.
Fatal Violence Nearby Off the Same Corridor
The Raleigh Millington Road area has also seen deadly violence in recent months. A 16-year-old boy was fatally shot on May 24, 2026, at the Luxe at Raleigh Apartments just off the road, resulting in reckless homicide charges against another 16-year-old, according to localmemphis.com's coverage, which Hoodline detailed in its own report on the case, a teen charged in a fatal shooting. Active arrest warrants for aggravated assault in Shelby County are prosecuted as Class C felonies under Tennessee law, carrying potential prison sentences of three to 15 years, per CrimeStoppers. The Memphis Police Department also maintains a specialized unit dedicated to investigating aggravated assaults involving non-fatal shootings as part of the Memphis Shelby Safe Community Action Plan, according to the Memphis Shelby Crime Commission.

Saturday's shooting adds to a string of recent incidents in the Raleigh neighborhood that Hoodline has tracked in recent weeks, including a man critically wounded near Coleman and Hoover earlier this month and another left clinging to life in a separate morning shooting in early August.
