
Chaos erupted in an unincorporated area of Central Broward early Saturday morning as Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies rushed to the scene of a reported home invasion and shooting. According to the Sun Sentinel, the incident took place just before 5:30 a.m. near the 4100 block of Southwest 21st Street, where deputies found a man suffering from gunshot wounds.
Paramedics were dispatched, taking the injured man to a local hospital as detectives from BSO’s Violent Crimes and Crime Scene units jumped into action to piece together the events that led to the shooting. While the circumstances surrounding the incident remain under wraps, neighbors have reported hearing a sequence of gunshots, followed by screams ringing out through the community, as per Local 10 News.
As the investigation unfolds, BSO spokesperson Carey Codd has yet to provide definitive details on what precipitated the shooting.
