
Chaos unfolded early Sunday in West Midtown along a busy strip of Howell Mill Road as gunfire erupted during a robbery, leaving one man wounded and another with a broken leg. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, the victim was shot near popular dining destinations and subsequently rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital in stable condition.
Witnesses reported that the suspects, who were involved in the shootout, were clad in black with their faces obscured by ski masks. Amidst the chaos of bullets flying, managed to escape, his associate broke his leg jumping a fence and was also taken to Grady, where he is listed as stable, as reported by 11Alive.
The Atlanta Police Department has thus far not made any arrests in connection with the incident. Officers at the scene said the victim and two other men exchanged gunfire during the attempted robbery. Further details about the motivation behind the robbery or the identities of those involved have not been released.
Authorities are investigating the crime, which disrupted the tranquility of an area known for its culinary attractions, including Snooze and Hattie B's. While investigators are piecing together the events, currently there are no suspects in custody. Police are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist with the ongoing investigation.
