Chicopee streets are a touch safer today after a hefty drug den bust by Massachusetts State Police and their partners. An investigation launched in January by MSP's narcotics task force came to a head this past Wednesday when raids at two residences netted large quantities of fentanyl and cocaine, along with arrests of two suspected traffickers.
State Troopers backed by Chicopee's local narcs and a mix of federal agencies stormed in at 80 Pine St. and 33 Southwick St. after months of keeping tabs on activities there. Their finds included over one kilogram of coke, a shady 256 grams of raw fentanyl, and a stash of cash likely from drug sales.
One of the raided homes even had a full-blown fentanyl mill inside—you know, where dealers cut the pure stuff with who knows what before it hits the streets. The bust also turned up a sneaky hidden compartment in a car packed with heroin and cocaine, proving traffickers' tricks are as old as their trade.
In a detailed report by MSP, it was revealed that the two men now facing the music are Arlin Radhames Troncoso, 43, from 80 Pine St., and Wanfel Salvador Aristy Alcantara, 28, of 33 Southwick St. Each got slapped with serious charges for trafficking, and not just a few grams—over 200 grams each of heroin or fentanyl and cocaine.
The twist came when the law found out that Troncoso is no stranger to trouble. He's got a warrant from back in 2022 for a homicide in the Dominican Republic. Now, the MSP Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section and the U.S. Marshals are digging into his fugitive status, while these two await their day in Hampden County court.
