
Memphis 901 FC's rising star, Nighte Pickering, is packing his bags for a trip to Morocco after being selected for the U.S. U-19 Men's Youth National Team camp, the team is scheduled to play against England and the host nation in international friendlies late this month, according to local news outlet.
The young forward, who carved a name for himself after scoring a stellar goal in Memphis' season opener last week, hopes to make a splash on the international scene from March 17-27; this marks his third stint with a national side, BVM Sports reported, after starting one game in his first season, he has now appeared more than 35 times which most includes the goal that bagged him the USL Goal of the Week.
Pickering, who signed with Memphis 901 FC in 2022 as their youngest player, has amassed eight goals since, including a notable shot against Las Vegas Lights FC that nabbed him the league's weekly honor, ABC24 Memphis posted.

According to a statement obtained by BVM Sports, 901 FC Assistant Sporting Director Caleb Patterson-Sewell endorsed Pickering's latest achievement: “This is another fantastic step in Nighte’s career, we brought him in as a young 17-year-old after scouting a youth tournament and his progression has been brilliant.” Pickering's performance at the upcoming camp could set the stage for the 2024 Concacaf U-20 Championship, ambitions are currently buoyant after his early season performances.
Prior to setting off for international duties, Pickering will demonstrate his burgeoning talent in Memphis' next match against Indianapolis-based squad Indy Eleven on Saturday, March 16, at 3 p.m. CT, where he will be among the players available for selection.
