
A male driver met a tragic end Sunday night after his vehicle veered off the road and crashed into a residence in Hickory Hill, Memphis, authorities confirmed. The accident, which occurred at the intersection of Clarke Road and Flowering Peach Drive near Flowering Peach Park, was responded to by officers at 11:23 p.m., but the driver was pronounced dead at the scene, as reported by Action News 5. The cause behind this devastating incident remains unknown at this time.
Adding to the city's grim night, another fatal event unfolded when two vehicles collided on Hickory Hill Road and East Shelby Drive at around 8 p.m. Wednesday, per WREG, a man grievously wounded in the crash was taken to Regional One in critical condition, but unfortunately, his fight for life came to a close shortly afterward while across town, a pedestrian walking in the roadway met a similar fate after being hit by a sedan around 7:45 p.m., at Union Avenue and Danny Thomas.
Regarding the pedestrian incident reported by Local Memphis, the man was critically injured after the collision and ultimately succumbed to his injuries at Regional One; the driver involved in the incident did not flee the scene, according to officials. The Memphis Police Department is currently urging people to steer clear of the area as they continue their investigation into the downtown pedestrian accident.
