
A daylight robbery at a South Memphis gas station left a woman without her vehicle as assailants made off with her 2017 BMW 320i. The Memphis Police Department is calling for the public's assistance in identifying the trio involved in the carjacking that occurred on Monday.
According to Action News 5, the incident took place at the Shell station at 1890 South Third Street; surveilliance footage provided by the MPD captures two men approaching the woman while one sneaks up and forcibly takes her keys and credit card, they deftly work in tandem as the first suspect slips into the driver's seat the second tries, unsuccessfully, to pry open the back passenger door in a struggle the vehicle is then driven off while two accomplices, including one previously out of frame, stroll away with a seeming nonchalance.
Adding to the report, FOX13 Memphis states that after the keys were snatched and the car was stolen the other two men quickly walked away from the scene, leaving the victim amidst a waking nightmare at the gas station where security and safety should be presumed, but was brashly disrupted.
Further details provided by Local Memphis indicated that the robbery occurred around 3:40 p.m., as the woman was filling up her car, the suspects actions were caught on a camera which laid bear the stark vulnerability of a solitary figure against the backdrop of an ordinary urban chore that, within moments became a scene of predation and loss.
