
DC cops are on the hunt for a brazen bandit following an armed robbery in Southeast, Washington, DC. The Metropolitan Police Department's Sixth District is asking for the community's assistance to track down the suspect who held up a store on Pennsylvania Avenue. The crime occurred early Monday morning, with the suspect making off with a wad of cash and a cash register before fleeing in a getaway vehicle.
The suspect, armed and audacious, stormed the establishment in the 3200 block of Pennsylvania Avenue Southeast at about 7:08 a.m., according to a police statement. It was reported that the unknown individual leaped over the sales counter, threatening the store employees with a gun. In a startling display of audacity, he snatched money from one cash register, then another entire cash register, abruptly leaving the scene with both.
The Metropolitan Police have released little details about the vehicle the suspect used to make his escape, except that it was instrumental in facilitating his quick departure from the crime scene. Now, investigators are combing through surveillance footage, hoping to find a lead on the car and more information on the suspect's identity.
