Thieves struck gold twice in Northwest D.C. as they targeted local businesses. In a brazen late-night spree, the suspect—or suspects—forced entry and robbed two establishments before disappearing into the night, the Metropolitan Police Department reports.
The first incident unfolded on Tuesday, just minutes before the clock struck midnight, at a business located on the 2100 block of 14th Street. The criminal conduct continued into the early hours of Wednesday when at around 1:49 a.m., another business fell victim to a similar fate in the 1300 block of 9th Street, Northwest.
DC cops are now appealing to the public for assistance in identifying the culprit, offering descriptions, and requesting information that could lead to an arrest. The MPD’s Third District detectives, committed to cracking the case, are spearheading the search.
The authorities have yet to release detailed information about what was stolen or the estimated value of the goods pilfered.
