Cracking down on a suspect involved in a February drive-by, Miami-Dade cops nabbed two during a dawn warrant blitz in Southwest Miami-Dade. Law enforcement swarmed a mobile home park off Southwest 252nd Street and 129th Avenue, as reported by WSVN. With the Miami-Dade Police Department's Special Response Team on deck, officers set perimeters and advanced on the target residence.
The police action ties back to a shooting incident on Feb. 24 on the 1300 block of Southwest 190 Lane. On finding the victim of a gunshot wound, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue transported him to Jackson Memorial Hospital in stable condition. According to Local10, authorities were already clued into the shooter's identity, unraveling the link between the suspected shooter and the victim.
Det. Argemis Colome, affirming the operation, disclosed that warrants were served at homes not only on Southwest 252nd Terrace, but also a stone's throw away on Southwest 131st Court. WSVN spoke to a woman, whose parents have owned their mobile home for two decades, who claimed that the suspects were mere tenants amidst eviction proceedings initiated by her parents.
Although the Miami-Dade Police Department has been tight-lipped about the arrested persons' identities, the wheels of justice began to spin with the suspects now in custody. In a tangled affair that led officers to uncover the known connection between assailant and victim, the motives of the shooting remain shrouded.
