A hail of bullets turned a quiet Midlothian street into the scene of a deadly shooting last week. According to the Midlothian Police Department, officers rushed to a report of gunfire in the 500 block of Chelsea Drive on the evening of March 5. Upon arrival, they discovered a man shot multiple times within a residence in the suburbs.
The victim, identified as 25-year-old Choyce Redmon of Midlothian, was swiftly transported by Midlothian Fire Department medics to a local hospital. Despite their efforts, Redmon was pronounced dead, reported Justice of the Peace Dan Cox. As details remain scarce, and with a killer at large, tension grips the community.
The Midlothian Police Department revealed, "At this time a suspect has not been identified. However, we believe this was a targeted assault." Authorities are treating the case as a homicide and have turned to the public for assistance.
Witness accounts suggested the getaway vehicle was a dark-colored luxury sedan, possibly black, that was seen fleeing the scene. The car was last seen heading north on Westminster Drive after the incident. Midlothian PD urges citizens to scour any security footage they have, in search of the vehicle around the time of the crime. With a community on edge, one can only hope such evidence will shed light on the perpetrator's identity.
Midlothian detectives, in search of leads, have issued a call to the public—anyone with information about the crime is encouraged to reach out. Detective Siegler can be contacted at (972) 775-7674 or via email at [email protected]. As the investigation unfolds, the community awaits justice for Choyce Redmon with bated breath.
