Five minors found themselves in handcuffs after leading police on a chase Saturday night through the streets from Miramar to Miami Gardens, authorities said. The young suspects attempted a daring escape after abandoning a stolen white car during a traffic stop, but their freedom was short-lived.

According to Miramar Police, the chase began when officers spotted the stolen vehicle near Douglas and County Line Roads. The juveniles pushed their luck and the accelerator, taking the car into Miami Gardens where police attempted to pull them over at Northwest 32nd Avenue and 205th Terrace, NBC Miami reported.

The situation escalated when, instead of yielding to officers, all five individuals exited the vehicle and fled on foot. It wasn't long though, before police caught up with them - rounding up the juveniles not far from the scene. NBC Miami captured footage of the car, abandoned with apparent damage to its rear, indicating a rough journey's end for the car and the caper.

All five minors were taken into custody following the brief manhunt, with charges pending as the incident remains under investigation, according to WSVN. The nighttime escapade wrapped up with no reported injuries, but the incident added another chapter of youth and recklessness unfolding on the roadways of South Florida.
