The search for 59-year-old Nicholas Gaikoski ended on a positive note today as the Bedford Police Department announced that they have safely located the man who had been missing since early yesterday morning.
According to the Bedford Texas Police Department's earlier plea for public assistance shared on their Facebook page, Gaikoski had disappeared after leaving a medical facility with his last known cell phone location traced to the 1900 block of Central Road at around 9:50 a.m. and he was described as a 5-foot 6-inch tall man weighing 160 pounds, last seen wearing a gray flannel, a yellow shirt underneath and khaki pants.
Community members were deeply concerned about Mr. Gaikoski's well-being, with Bedford law enforcement asking those who might have spotted him or known his whereabouts to make urgent contact through the 9-1-1 system or phone the Bedford Dispatch directly at 817-952-2127.
The positive resolution, announced at 12:30 p.m., was a welcomed update for those following the case and brought relief to concerned locals and Mr. Gaikoski's family, although no details have been disclosed about the circumstances of his discovery or his condition after being found the community does rejoice in knowing that scenarios like these can indeed conclude without tragedy.
