The crackdown on a suspected multinational human trafficking network has intensified with authorities booking a Venezuelan national on multiple charges, signaling a significant stride in an ongoing probe centered in Middle Tennessee.
Arrested Wednesday, 34-year-old Kleiver Daniel Moto Rivero, confirmed by investigators to be linked with the notorious Tren de Aragua gang, faces allegations including trafficking for a commercial sex act, FOX 17 reported. He was taken into custody in Nashville, marking the second apprehension in a case that first broke in the autumn of 2023 with the detention of Yilibeth Rivero De Caldera. Caldera was implicated for her role in trafficking Hispanic female immigrants in the area for commercial sex.
Moto Rivero, now detained in the Davidson County Jail, is also charged with one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and his bond is set at a steep $375,000. WKRN details the arrest took place on March 13, as the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI), in tandem with the FBI, Homeland Security Investigations, Metro Nashville Police, and the U.S. Marshals Service, carried out their concerted sting operation against the illicit empire.
Confirming the arrest via social media, the TBI announced the latest development as part of their larger endeavor to dismantle an organization with expansive international links, a statement on the TBI official X account read. Rivero's affiliation with Tren de Aragua, an outfit with extensive tentacles reaching from the troubled Venezuelan state into the heartlands of America, underscores the global scope of this law enforcement challenge.
