An East Nashville couple was apprehended yesterday, following a detailed five-month investigation, and slapped with several indictments by a grand jury for a series of horrific crimes involving the rape of a child—and this all started when the child in question was just 7 years old.
According to a report published by the Nashville government website, Angel Slattery, 38, and Michael Slattery, 24, have been charged with five counts of rape of a child, continuous sexual abuse of a child, displaying sex acts to a minor, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor—each, a grave disturbance that pulls at the conscience of the city. The investigation spearheaded by Youth Services Division Detective Rachael Robinson, led to their arrest on Dickerson Pike.
The now shuttered couple, once believed to be guardians, had actually taken custody of the young boy. It was under their roof that the alleged repeated sexual assaults took place, assaults which the victim recounted as joint attacks, as well as individual ones perpetrated by each of the accused.
Both Angel and Michael Slattery were busted by Violent Crimes detectives and are currently facing the consequences of their appalling actions.
