Tennessee entrepreneurs mark your calendars. The Volunteer State is celebrating a significant milestone in leveling the playing field for small and diverse businesses. The Governor's Office of Diversity Business Enterprise (Go-DBE) is set to celebrate its 20th anniversary with a major event at the Nashville Music City Center. The 2024 Diversity Marketplace Conference, happening on April 4, aims to boost small businesses by providing resources and networking opportunities. "Go BIG. Go FAR. Go-DBE," the event slogan, calls on businesses to come out in force for what promises to be an impactful day, according to the Tennessee Department of General Service.

The conference will feature workshops, panels, and opportunities to meet industry leaders eager to connect with emerging enterprises. It's a chance for small business owners to quickly expand their knowledge base, and to directly engage with strategies that could drive their companies to new heights. With guidance from seasoned professionals, they're expected to learn not only how to navigate the world of state procurement, but possibly to also score big contracts that could transform their ventures, as per the Tennessee Department of General Services.

Mike Perry, the State's Chief Procurement Officer, expressed excitement about the upcoming conference. "We're incredibly excited to host the 2024 Diversity Marketplace Conference," he said. "This event offers a unique platform for businesses to connect, learn, and grow." He added, in a statement obtained by the Tennessee government's press services, "We encourage all small businesses in Tennessee to seize this opportunity and register today," as stated by the Tennessee Department of General Services.  Perry's remarks underscore the importance Tennessee places on nurturing businesses from varied backgrounds as part of its inclusive economic growth strategy.
