A deadly dispute in a Hooters parking lot has left a young man dead and another facing serious charges, according to Newnan police. Officers responded to reports of a shooting at the Hooters at 1001 Bullsboro Drive just after midnight on Monday. Upon arrival, they found 22-year-old Luke Oliveira suffering from gunshot wounds.
Oliveira was quickly transported to a Atlanta-area hospital, but tragically, succumbed to his injuries a few hours later, dying just after 6 a.m. In the wake of the violent altercation, 28-year-old Jacob Lee Vandiver has been arrested and slapped with multiple charges, including possession of a firearm during the commission a felony, aggravated assault, and murder, as per FOX 5 Atlanta. He is currently behind bars at the Coweta County Jail.
The events preceding the shooting indicated Oliveira and Vandiver were at the restaurant together before their interaction escalated. The Newnan police reveal that a "verbal disagreement" between the men turned physical, resulting in the shooting. However, the nature of the dispute and the relationship between the two men remains unclear.
