The older victim was hit in the head and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries. The younger man, shot in the abdomen, remains in critical condition at the same hospital. A suspect has been taken into custody and police managed to recover three handguns from the crime scene, in a swift response to quickly try and restore order.

Law enforcement officials have yet to release details about what led to the shooting or the names of the individuals involved.

The incident is currently under investigation by Area Four Detectives, according to a statement from the Chicago Police Department. The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain uncertain as the detectives continue to piece together what transpired on that fateful evening.
