
A man was killed and another was critically wounded in a shooting on the South Side of Chicago, authorities said. The violence occurred in the South Shore neighborhood near an alley on the 7400 block of South Euclid Avenue.
The victims, identified as 36-year-old Delegance Crawl and a 20-year-old male, reportedly engaged in a physical altercation before the shooting erupted Friday afternoon. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the exchange of gunfire took place just before 2:30 p.m. where both men were shot, with Crawl suffering two gunshot wounds to the head.
Crawl was pronounced dead at the scene, while the younger victim, injured with a shot to his leg and buttocks, was rushed to the University of Chicago Medical Center. He was listed in critical condition. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the fatal incident, the Chicago Police Department reports.
As the Chicago police continue their investigation, details emerge about the shooting that claimed the life of one man and left another clinging to life. WLS stated no one was in custody following the incident. The names of the suspects or potential motives had yet to be disclosed by police.
