A Royal Caribbean cruise ship employee is behind bars after being accused of a perverse invasion of privacy that targeted guests aboard the "Symphony of the Seas." Arvin Joseph Mirasol, 34, finds himself at the center of a scandal involving hidden cameras placed in the bathrooms of unsuspecting passengers, with footage revealing disturbing acts of voyeurism and child pornography, authorities revealed.

After the discovery of a concealed camera was made by a guest while sailing from South Florida on Feb. 25, Mirasol was arrested when the ship docked at Port Everglades on Sunday. Charged with six counts of video voyeurism and one count of possession of child pornography, he was detained without bond in the Broward County jail. According to an affidavit from the Broward Sheriff's Office, Mirasol admitted to authorities that his targets were generally teenage girls 16 years old and over, stating, "If I like who is in that room, I place it."

Local 10 News reported that federal charging documents described the nature of the videos found on one of Mirasol's USB sticks as explicit, including footage of a girl, apparently around 10 years old, in the shower. The complaint stated her genitals were "clearly visible" and were "the focus of the video." Mirasol also confessed his impetus wasn't within his control, reportedly saying, "I want to control it, but I can't."

Additional evidence surfaced when a guest, staying with her sister and mom, found a camera hidden under the bathroom sink on Feb. 26. After the guest reported it to ship security, law enforcement seized Mirasol's electronic devices. Videos discovered on these devices included images of naked females undressing, many of which were of minors. According to an NBC Miami report, one of these videos disturbingly featured Mirasol himself setting up the camera.

In response to the shocking events, a spokesperson for Royal Caribbean made it clear that such behavior would not be tolerated within their operations. "We have zero tolerance for this unacceptable behavior," the line stated, assuring the public that they had swiftly reported the incident to authorities and terminated Mirasol's employment. The cruise line vowed continued full cooperation with law enforcement in the ongoing investigation.
