Phoenix Officers Hospitalized, Woman Processed for DUI After Traffic Collision

Early Saturday morning, a routine patrol turned sideways when a marked Phoenix police car crashed with another vehicle near 23rd Avenue and Indian School Road, reported 12 News. Both officers in the patrol car, a man and a woman, sustained minor injuries and were hospitalized, but the duo has since been released and is now home recovering.

Caught up in the accident, the other vehicle's driver was a woman who, having sustained non-life-threatening injuries, was taken to the hospital. Precariously pending the results of a toxicology report, this woman was processed for DUI, as ABC15 conveyed, with law enforcement indicating that charges are in the wings.

The details of the crash are yet unclear, and the Phoenix Police Department is diligently piecing together the events that led to the morning collision. The woman involved in the incident has not been identified by authorities, and the intersection which was temporally sealed off by police units has since been reopened to the throes of Phoenix traffic.
