Chaos erupted at a Mt. Juliet sports store when three suspects, later found to be connected to a spree of vehicle burglaries, led police on a frantic chase through the aisles. Authorities from Mt. Juliet Police Department (MJPD) arrested the individuals after they attempted to slip away through a Dick's Sporting Goods, WKRN reports. The incident took place on Monday, March 18, when police identified an SUV involved in recent burglaries speeding through parking lots before a 911 caller reported the suspects' erratic behavior inside a store.
The MJPD had already been on the lookout for the silver BMW SUV with Colorado plates, associated with the suspects. An officer tried to pull the vehicle over, but the driver instead chose to flee at high rate of speed, leading to the chase down South Mt. Juliet Road and into Providence Marketplace. According to MJPD's post, the #MJGuardianShield system, designed to alert officers to known suspect vehicles, played a key role in the pursuit that eventually ended with the suspects' capture behind Dick’s Sporting Goods.

Further investigations revealed that the apprehended suspects were already on law enforcement's radar for previous crimes. The trio, from Nashville, had a history of warrants for theft and assault charges across multiple counties and even an out-of-state warrant. The 30-year-old woman in the group faced the most severe charges, including aggravated assault, as discovered when police pulled them over and found stolen goods and a gun in their possession.
