A man involved in a stabbing and subsequent standoff with police in Portland's Hazelwood Neighborhood on Wednesday has been identified as 29-year-old Beka Nebi Dekebo, law enforcement officials confirmed.

Dekebo, who is currently being held at the Multnomah County Detention Center, faces charges of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree and Unlawful Use of a Weapon, both charges underscored by domestic violence implications. During the ordeal, streets were blocked off and residents were asked to remain indoors while police negotiated with the suspect.
