It seems the City of Seguin has found its superstar in the Utility Billing Department. Julie Salamanca, who operates as the Utility Billing Supervisor, has been named January's Employee of the Month for her exceptional commitment to her job.
Despite facing an uptick in her workload, caused by complications with MTU meters, and taking the reins on handling 400 new water customer transfers from Springs Hill, Salamanca has consistently stepped up to the plate. Working late into the night and forgoing weekends and holidays, she's been sacrificing her personal time to ensure that customer bills were dispatched without delay. Seguin's official website reported she navigated customer complaints with nothing less than a blend of patience and professionalism.
Her dedication didn't go unnoticed, with colleagues nominating her for the distinction due to her positivity and a dogged work ethic that often involved tackling tasks beyond her official purview. According to the same city announcement, the individuals nominating Julie couldn't help but commend her "upbeat attitude," and her exceptional willingness "to support her staff and team members."
Residents and coworkers alike have borne witness to Salamanca's grace, maintaining a "calm demeanor and a high level of professionalism," throughout the turmoil the recent influx of service demands have caused, as detailed on the city's announcement.
