Someone in Sun City is waking up a whole lot richer. A Cool million has landed in the lap of an Arizona Powerball player, with lottery officials confirming the ticket was sold at a local Safeway. The lucky location? None other than the Safeway at 10926 W Bell Road in the Grand Canyon state's sunny enclave, as reported by ABC15.
The golden ticket matched five numbers from Wednesday night's drawing: 37, 46, 57, 60, 66, with the Powerball 8. Although the jackpot remained elusive, sitting prettily at $935 million ready for the taking on Saturday, the win isn't something to sneeze at. Specifically on the line, three smaller winners of $50,000 were also produced by the draw, as 12 News kindly points out.
These three additional tickets brought the heat at Fry's Food Store, Lake Powell Convenience Store, and Fastrip Food Store, located in Casa Grande, Page, and Nogales respectively. The exact locations shaking up the Powerball scene were at 2858 N Pinal Ave in Casa Grande, 901 N Hwy 89 in Page, and 1891 Grande Ave in Nogales. Bingo for them.
The figures are staggering—$935 million up for grabs, and should one opt for the cash, there's a $449.7 million payday waiting to be claimed, according to information provided by 12 News. So check those tickets, and maybe, just maybe, Saturday will mint another millionaire, or better yet, a new billionaire.
