The Surprise Police Department is calling on locals to speak up and weigh in on its performance. As part of the CALEA accreditation process, a public feedback portal will be opened up starting April 1 through May 31, where the community can anonymously drop their two cents about department service quality.
Seeking to maintain top-notch standards of professionalism, the department is required to gather community feedback as they pursue reaccreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). It's a chance, not just to talk, but to possibly shape how the law is enforced in Surprise. The department is set to go through a site-based review from July 22-25, and every comment will directly be sent to CALEA, with a summarizing report to be handed over to the police after the comment period wraps.
Having been CALEA-accredited since 2007, the Surprise Police Department is no stranger to the scrutiny process. They encourage engagement, emphasizing that "our community's feedback matters," as reported on the City of Surprise website.
Residents interested to provide their input or follow the proceedings can easily head to the department's social media platforms for updates.
